Utah Small Business Development Centers

We are part of a nationwide network funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Here in Utah we also receive support from the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development. At each individual center we also receive support from our host institution of higher education. In our case, that is Utah State University.

The Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) are designed to be a one-stop shop for all of your business information needs. We provide that information through one-on-one counseling, seminars & classes and we are supported by a local research center, a national research center at the University of Texas in San Antonio. We also do a large amount of local research.

Regional DirectorI encourage you you to contact us for all your business information and training needs. All of our counseling services are free. 99% of all our research, at any level is free of charge as well. When we offer a class we try to cover our costs and break-even. Some classes are free, others have a small fee.

Sometimes the biggest risk we take in life is, not taking any risks. Contact us and let us help you assess the risk and feasibility of your idea. If you are already in business, we would really enjoy helping you take your business to the next level or even working to turn it around if you are currently having some trouble.

The Utah SBDC has been in operation for 30 years. I have been with the network for nearly 15 of those years. Prior to working with the SBDC network I was the CFO for an association of hospitals. Prior to that I was in Public Accounting and have owned and operated a couple of high tech and retail businesses. I received my formal education from Utah State University where I earned a BS in Business Administration then a second BS in Accounting and finally a Master's Degree in Business Administration. I look forward to working with you and sharing the resources that make the Utah Small Business Development Center such a great network.
