Utah State

Section 5

Celebrate what you want to see more of.

- Tom Peters

It's fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.

- Bill Gates

This is the shortest section of the course. Just a small little piece to say congratulations. You have made it through one of the hardest things that you will accomplish in your life. Not everyone is cut out to be a turn around manager.

Celebrating your success is really just a continuation of the end of Section 4, even if you are the only employee left standing.

Assignment: Find those things that motivate you, list them and discuss them with your counselor. Also, discuss what your are going to do to reward you for your own successes, this one and those to come.

Ok, finished celebrating? Good. Now it's time to start all over again. You cannot allow yourself the pleasure of complacency. You nearly went under once. Who's to say it won't happen again? And, it will if you are not eternally vigilant when it comes to containing costs, watching product margins and motivating employees.

Assignment: Fill out a survey that will be mailed to you. Give your honest opinion on the course. What should be added? What should be taken away? What worked? What didn't? The survey will go to the course creator, who has a fairly thick skin and is only concerned with improving the course.

Thank you!
